The safest option for hot items such as metal surfaces, there is no need to get too close; its laser sight makes for simple and accurate targeting.

Great for use with your log burner or wood burner, you can keep a check on the temperature, to ensure it is neither too cool nor too hot. This allows you to not only save fuel, but also avoid creosote build-up or your burner overheating, which may lead to metal fragility. Keep an eye on the temperature of the body and the flue of your burner to reduce costs and avoid long term damage.

Three buttons allow you to quickly switch between options - laser on/off; changing between celsius and fahrenheit and backlight on/off. Its LCD display prominently shows the temperature, in either fahrenheit and celsius, as well as indicating which of the options are currently selected.

Conservation of power is a priority; when not in use it auto powers off in 20 seconds. The screen also displays a low battery icon, to alert you to when it is time to change the batteries.
