Mowing in dry or dusty summer conditions generates massive amounts of airborne fine debris that can rapidly choke your engine's intake. When replacing this filter element, pop open the air box cover and use a clean, damp microfiber cloth to carefully wipe away accumulated dust from the interior plastic tracking housing. Never use compressed air to blast dust directly out of the old filter while it is still close to the open intake neck, as this risks blowing microscopic grit straight into the carburetor venturi throat, which can scar cylinders or foul internal jets.
