This recoil starter assembly is supplied ready to bolt on as a direct replacement for your existing pull start unit, making it a straightforward solution for replacing a damaged or worn starter mechanism. It is also suitable for the Titan Pro TP500 Tiller and 8 Ton Petrol Log Splitter fitted with the Titan Pro 6.5HP four-stroke engine.
This pull start may also fit some 6.5HP and 7HP engines from Honda. If you are unsure about compatibility, please contact us before ordering.
Titan Pro Tech Tip: Extending Recoil Rope Life
To keep your replacement pull start operating smoothly without damaging the internal plastic drive pawls or snapping the cord, avoid ripping the handle from a slack position. Pull the handle slowly out until you feel the mechanical metal dogs firmly engage against the engine‘s starter cup, then pull with a smooth, firm, full stroke. Never let the handle snap back freely against the casing; guide it back manually so the internal recoil spring winds the tension down correctly.

Please check your existing pull start before purchase. There are two versions available:
• Earlier style: Used up until September 2021
• Later style: Introduced from September 2021

Fairly essential to start the engine
The cord broke on my existing starter unit. I did eventually get it repaired it was very fiddly so I have purchased this one so I can swap it if my repaired unit goes wrong again.
