Titan Pro Tech Tip: Setting the Flywheel Air Gap Clearance
When installing your new ignition armature coil, setting the physical space between the coil legs and the flywheel magnet is crucial. If the gap is too large, the magnetic field will be too weak to trigger a strong, hot spark; if it is too tight, it will scrape against the flywheel shroud. Rotate the flywheel until the magnet aligns directly under the coil mounts. Insert a standard business card or a 0.010-inch (0.25mm) feeler gauge between the components, let the magnetic pull clamp the coil down flush against it, and torque your securing bolts. Always spin the flywheel by hand to confirm a smooth rotation check before rebuilding the recoil shroud.

replacement coil did the job
My 7HP chipper wasnt happy after a winter under its tarp. After changing the fuel spark plug and checking the circuits I saw a comment that the coils dont last forever and tried a new one. Once Id tweaked the spark gap she started up and I have now cleared the shredding backlog. Great machine.
